It is astonishing to me how much these things can eat. My tegu is about 4 months old (?) 29 inches total length and i feed it all day long as much as it will eat. Today it had 8 yes 8 hopper mice in a 2 hour period and a raw egg. And it still was searching for food before going to its burrow. IS THIS NORMAL,LOL...

That is nucking futs! Does anyone know how much it costs to feed an adult Tegu a year? How much food does an adult Tegu normally consume each day?

I'm not sure about an adult, but im spending around 7-10 a week depending on what i feed it. Like today the hoppers were a 1.00 each so it cost me 8 dollars and change to feed it. I have never let it eat so many hoppers at one time though. I only feed it around 2 or 3 hoppers a week. The rest of the diet is dusted ground turkey, salmon, boiled eggs, chicken, and the list goes on.
