I just got my argentine b/w and he/she spends alot of time in it's hide comes out for a little while then goes back in. Is this cause it's in a hibernation mode.

It could also be that he or she just needs some time to settle in to there new environment and get comfortable.

Yeah she/he is most likely scared and getting use to her new home..Hibernation also is another reason.

thanks for your input thats kinda what I thought, I am at work right now but I talked with my wife and she said that the tegu was out basking today and walking around.
