tegu nail problems

Hi everybody, I just adopted a new tegu from a reptile rescue yesterday. This is currently my third tegu at the moment. He was never properly cared for and has a couple breaks in is tail that have healed but are all crooked. His nails are also very long and curly like cork screws, some are bent back into his toes and it has me concerned. Was wondering if there is anything I can do to help him out..

Can they be clipped?

You should be safe to almost 1/2 way for cutting those nails. Take to vet if uncomfortable with cutting nails. He was kept indoors on smooth substrate reckon.
