Tegu not eating...

I recently bought a tegu (in July). He has a fantastic appetite when I first got him. I have him on a ground turkey/beef liver/cod liver oil diet (as per Bobby Hill's suggestion). I have given him scrambled eggs and mice and he loves those, and now he will not touch his turkey mixture, which is the staple of his diet (he one gets egg or a mouse once a week). He has not eaten in 5 days and I am starting to worry, but I don't want to give in and feed him something else because I want him on a good diet. Any thoughts???

He could be slowing down for hibernation, or just being stubborn. Is he pooping and acting normal? What are the temps and humidity in the enclosure? I would also recommend a more varied diet, he may be sick of turkey being that is mainly what you feed. Try roaches, tilapia, chicken gizzard/hearts, rats/mice/chicks (more often).

Yep, mine went cold turkey (snare drum) lol, so to speak. I was mixing that with egg and liver, but now he won't touch the stuff. Variety early will help you ten fold now.
