In my opinion, it is irresponsible to house multiple Tegus in a single enclosure, unless the enclosure is much much larger than the suggested minimum. We see plenty of examples of two Tegus that get along well, suddenly becoming aggressive to the other. If this happens when the animals are not being monitored extreme damage can be done.
As for socializing under observation, the more similar the Tegus are the more likely they will get along. I surely wouldn't allow a small Arg with a large Col... but I wouldn't hesitate to allow an adult Red socialize with an adult B&W.
