Tegus broken tail healing up can i place him on his dirt now

I use coco husk, but since his tail break incident I put him on papertowels. Now that his tail is healing up I was curious if it would be alright to put him on his coco husk fiber I had him on. His tail is no longer scabby and dark looking, now it is pink with bits of dark purple around it, or perhaps black. Every time I bring my tegu around my other reps tank that has coco husk he tries to get in. I wanna know if I can let him have fun again with digging.

i would think if its fully closed up and the dirt cant stick to it i think it should be fine.
