I live in Southern California and will be getting one of Bobby's tegus. I will be keeping him in the garage(detached). Can it get too cold for him during hibernation? Or am I being a worry wart? lol

I know people that keep their Tegu's out side all year long here in Virginia. In the winter it's not unreasonable to see 7-8" of snow. The Tegu's just go down in there burrows and sleep.

If your really worried you could set a thermostat to 55 degees or so, but to tell the truth I wouldn't worry about it
