Two different species living in the same area

I was thinking of getting a iguana but i already have a argentine tegu and i was wondering if it be okay to have both. I have plenty experience with reptiles but ive never had two of a different species together. Im not gonna put both of them in the same tank or try to breed them together. I have plenty of room for both of them and a lot of spare time to care of them both. The only thing im afraid of is them hurting each other. My tegu is female and im most likely gonna get a female iguana. Im just looking for some advice on how to approach this and your experience with a similar situation. Or if this is just a terrible idea and i shouldnt go thruogh with it

I'd recommend just keeping the tegu. They might get along if you have enough space that they can avoid each other, or they might even end up being best friends... but they also might kill each other. Put that extra free time into hanging out with the tegu and it will be a much more rewarding experience. They only get cooler with the more time you put into them, and one super tame lizard is better that 2 decently tame lizards imo.

If you don't plan on housing them together, and have the space for two properly sized enclosures than go for it. They won't harm each other if they can't get to each other.

More time with tegus = dank tegus.

If you do end up breeding the tegu to the iggy though, I will take ALL the babies =)
