My gu (Spunky) is doing great these days. He eats like a pig and is up 8 hours a day most of the time.
He is about 14 inches long, and soooo active that i take him out twice a day for almost an hour free roam time and he still scratches the glass to come out. His enclosure is 5x3x3ft at the moment, a large waterbowl, lots of rocks and plants and a lot of eco-earth to dig around in and I change things around when I clean so he can have some funtime exploring. His free roam space is basicly my whole room, except the part where my pc is but including the furniture to climb on and some pillows to relax.
Im in the middle of my exams this week and I don't like to leave him unattended.

Does anyone have a great idea for a toy, or other things to keep him occupied ?

Glad to hear, now were are those pics lol, as for toys actually with larger tegus a tennis ball will keep them active(rub a lil egg yolk on it) or you can do like I do and put some boiled eggs on the floor and let your tegu try to crack em, it takes storm and rayne about a 1/2 hour to get it open

Wow thanks ! That sounds like a save and fun way to give him some toys :) he is still a little small so I don't know if he can handle the tennis ball, but an egg will work fine I think (and has a nice reward).

I did post some new pictures this week, in my progress thread, but after this bussy days I will update some more :D

I did something pretty funny to prevent him from scratching the glass whole day long for attention....I build him a race-track :p
I had some cardboard leftover and I put some books underneath it so it couldn't collapse while he was running on it.
It has two lines of cardboard : one from enclosure to my chair, and one from the chair to the desk.
Anyway, we had a lot of fun that day :p

I hope this link works:

He found a playmate to keep him bussy :p
It was pretty funny to see him walking back and forward to get to his new friend.

I hope this works :
