I would say that's entirely up to you. Personally I was going to get a Cuban Rock Iguana (cyclura nubila) but now I think I'm going with a Rhino Iguana (cyclura cornuta). The rhino looks more prehistoric but as adults they don't have the colors that some of the others would have. Just make sure to do all of your research before even thinking about purchasing one. It's said that they will need a 10x10 space as adults and as for your not wanting something bigger than 4 ft...I'm not to sure and iguana of any kind is what your looking for.
