I recently purchased a red tegu & it has 2 weird spots on its skin. I have never seen anything like this and was hoping someone here might know what it is. I'll attach pics... Jason
here is a link to pics...please view the RED tegu and comment with your opinion on what you suspect these spots could be...

It's definitely a dermatitis of sorts, the question is whether it is fungal or bacterial. When you pull away some of the crust, is it moist underneath? Did the tegu come with these spots, or did they develop while in your enclosure? The reason that I ask is that it could come from too high humidity or wet substrate.
Until you can get it to a vet, try soaking in a weak solution of Povidine or Betadine. You can buy this at the drugstore, and mix it until it looks like weak tea. It will stain your hands, clothes, and anything it touches. It is also irritating to the eyes, so just make it shallow enough to cover the sores. Keep the tegu in for 15-20 min. Putting Neosporin ointment won't do a thing if it's fungal.
