Sounds like it'll be pretty soon. Mine is still out and basking, but has basically slept all day long. I'm hoping she stays up, but the real test will be when I put the lights out tonight.
Yeah good point. I should probably wait a few days to make sure she stays up. I'll go with the heat and lights on for 12 hrs a day and go with a night bulb to keep it over 70 and see if she stays up. So far although she's been real slow and sleeping, she has stated out and been moving around...
My all American female just woke up a few hours ago. I got her as basically a hatchling with green still on her and she went into hibernation almost immediately. She went down in late August and just woke up now after roughly 6 months. I turned the lights and heat on and she is drinking water...
I have no heat source or over head lights on any more. I turned everything off for hibernation. She only comes out when I move the water and only stays out for a short period. I'm hoping she is buried now and not under there again. I just a basic water dish in there now. And I have been changing...
Hi,
I received my AA Tegu from Varnyard in early Sept. I put her in the enclosure to let her calm down and get acclimated. She hid right under the cat litter pan I have in there for water and swimming. After a few days I tried feeding and she wouldn't eat. She continued to hide under...
Sounds great guys, I really appreciate it. I had a male extreme in the past and got him pretty tame, but he was a bit older I think 18 inches or so when I got him, so he wasn't quite as skittish.
well she finally came out today after hiding for a full 3 days! I wanted to feed her, so I set up her feeding bin, well that turned into WWIII ! She is extremely flighty and scared to death of me!! After toppling some things over and lots of hissing, whips, and bites I got her out and put her in...
Thanks, I'm hoping she doesn't hibernate since she's still so young and small. I'd also like some time to start handling/taming. Hopefully she will eat this wknd.
did he/she want to go right into hibernation? I just got mine also and she has been buried for a few days now. She's tiny and still has green on her. I barely had 10 minutes with her! haha
I just received my female AA from Bobby on Tues. She wandered around her enclosure the entire first day and had some water, but would not eat. That night she buried herself and I didn't see her at all. Today I went looking for her ang attempted to feed her again to no avail. She is 4 1/2 wks old...
I'm honestly not sure what all the fuss is about. I ordered my '12 All American female and after a week or so I saw these posts in the forum and panicked myself because I believed what I was reading. I contacted Bobby and just got mine today. The whole process took about 10 days. Varnyard is...
