Which type of Tegu is a good one to start with?

Hey guys, new to the forum but can already tell there is an abundance of information I can learn here! :D

I'm looking into getting a Tegu. (Always been a dream of mine) I was just curious though about what types tend to be the least agressive? I have read alot about caring for young Tegus, Diets, lights, ect ect, I just know that different types can be easier to tame than others. I have a buddy who has 2 Golden Tegus and he keeps talking about how aggressive they are. While I would be up for the challenge of taming aggressive lizards, I would obviously prefer to have the least aggressive one I can get.

So what would you say a good starting Tegu would be?

Thanks for your help guys!

Chris

Welcome, Chris. What Snib above said has been my experience, too. Remember that they live a long time and are dependent on you for good health.

Thanks for the posts guys! I appreciate the quick replys!

They do look like very nice lizards. Are there others that are similarly friendly/not as aggressive, or is that the all time nicest Tegu you think?

Thanks!

Chris
