I will get a picture later.i did rub mineral oil on one cricket about a drop and stitches would not eat that cricket.he still ate 12 this morning and I usually leave 4-6 in his tank because every 20 minutes or so he will go eat another and then go to bask.he is eating just like most people say a tegu will eat.his head is about the size of my thumb but pointy of course, if he would just poop I’m debating giving him a small pinkie if it looks like he can handle it

I’ve been doing baths at 105 degrees 3 times a day and letting him lay in the water and bask.i also hold down on the base of his tail to push him underwater while he just keeps his arms pushed out with his head out.he seems to like the submersion and his belly feels ok he looks noticeably fatter after eating another dozen crickets today.2 baths so far today I’m sure 2 more will happen.trying not to worry but I also don’t know if the place was feeding him adequately.i doubt they were letting him pig out the way he wants too.so many unknown variables as he’s so new to me x( stressful

I got a few pics of “his” rear end....I don’t think he is a he but there is one bigger scale in that region, but it does not protrude or feel like a bump

1st and 3rd pics I want to say male. I'm not super experienced with sexing though. You can see in the white marking what looks to me like a BB. Lets see what others think :D

I hope so but I guess it won’t matter either way.if it’s a she I will get another that I’m positive is a male.my goal is to have a pair either way but I don’t need a pair of the same sex obviously

Well an update on the poo situation stitches finally crapped.i don’t think the seller was feeding him/her enough...stitches has been eating every day since I brought him home.but like a bottomless hole today and yesterday. He’s ate a total of almost 100 crickets in 5 days.over 50 today and yesterday.and I stopped hand feeding him because he’s very lazy.hes getting more violent with them and he will sleep about an hour and then go on a killing spree, and repeat.all day today.hes turned into a little monster out of nowhere but still very interactive and friendly.i can touch him while he’s eating and he doesent care about the fingers at all

That's adorable in a baby-velociraptor kind of way :p Glad the poop finally arrived! I bet he/she is pretty happy with their new home and endless supply of crickets ;)

Good thing you don't live in the high rocky mountain. most of the cricets at petco die in the winter and most of the staff own reptiles so they buy most of them anways

Looking female to me, but I really think it's too early to tell. I looked for the BB scales when my male was your age, and I could not make them out. They're very subtle. Only reason I said female is because according to the pic, there is no sign of jowl growth yet. ....just an fyi... I thought my male was a female for about 6 months before I figured it out!! lol

I'd for sure plop him into a warm bath with the water trickling...but wouldn't necessarily worry too much yet since he's still so small. Poops at that age are also small in comparison to the small dog size they produce later. Could they be there but hidden? Yesterday, it was bath day here. My male went into the tub and relieved himself within a minute. My female took well over 20 mins, then unleashed. So they both had thawed mice, and chicken gizzards on Tuesday, then pooped on Thursday in the tub. This is very typical with my animals.

Chris - have you been giving him more than crickets yet?? When my female was that size, she was eating thawed pinkies, and ground turkey with calcium supplement added, along with a squirt (like the oil from one capsule) of fish oil. That's a lot more bulk than just a cricket diet. Can't remember what was said before....
