Hey i was just wondering, i have been trying to tame my tegu, i tried the ignoring it and it licked my fingers a few times then just sat there, and then i went to pet it as it seemed to be calm and it tail whipped and then walked away down one side of the aquarium and then when i moved went back...
How do i approach this problem, when i go to take out tegu for the feeding bin he runs under his hide. if im not supose to take him out of his hide how do i get him out to feed him?

Thanks for the info, my tegu lost its green head last shed, its prolly only about a month old or so, it could be about 12 inches or so, i cant be exact because everytime it sees me right now it bolts under its log haha, but ya its had a few bites of turkey and knows its food, ill try feeding him...

If you live close to Hamilton Ontario, there is a store in the down town called The Reptile Store... i know really unique... but they sell EXCELENT reptiles, always top quality. They turn away many animals that will not grow to be healthy big animals.
I've had 3 beardies, and one tegu, and in my experience B&W tegus are the way to go, as long as you can provide a big enough enclosure and time to take them out everyday.
